What the Exeter School Sport Partnership will do
The partnership will work to improve and increase opportunities for young people to compete and take part in a wide range of physical activities, school sport and Out of Hours learning activities. The School Sport Partnership is a key element of the Government's drive to provide the opportunity for all young people to access a minimum of 5 hours of high quality Physical Education and sport each week.
The Exeter School Sport Partnership also helps to enrich the lives and benefit the health of children and families living in Exeter and Mid Devon. Delivery of the five hour offer will without doubt promote young people’s participation in PE and sport, not only for it’s own sake, but also because PE and sport can make a significant contribution towards other areas;
  1. Raising educational standards by improving pupils attendance, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
  2. Raising whole school standards through the narrowing of the achievement gap, contributing to PSHE and through the enhancement of young people’s self-confidence, self-esteem, concentration, decision making and problem solving.
  3. Improving the health of your school community through increased activity levels.
  4. Promoting citizenship through the fostering of social responsibility, participation and leadership.
  5. Promote Community Cohesion through the bringing together of local communities.
