Exeter School Sport Partnership Steering Group
The School Sport Partnership is governed by an experienced group of individuals that make up the Steering Group. Ensuring both accountability and governance; the steering group meet 3 times per year to discuss the progress and development of the partnership.
Angela Balding, Schools Health Education Unit
Angela joined the SHEU in 1999 after ten years as a primary school teacher with experience of working with children in the 4 to 12 age range. Her main role within the unit is the liaison with key funding partners and project managers to ensure the overall smooth running of each piece of work. She has also written curriculum materials to support SHEU's work with primary schools.
Angela is author of SHEU's Fit to Succeed Programme. This is an ongoing study aimed at increasing the levels of physical activity in young people through a partnership between the young people of Exeter and public and private sector agencies. The project has developed a monitoring tool that is currently providing valuable evidence for the impact of the School Sport Co-ordinator programme.
Steve Kibble, PE Advisor, Devon County Council
Steve Kibble is the Senior Physical Education Advisor for Devon County Council. Having spent a number of years as the Chair of the Association for Physical Education alongside his advisory role; Steve is well placed to support the work of the School Sport Partnership. A number of the high quality PE resources which Steve has developed play a significant role across the partnership and support schools to deliver a high quality PE programme for young people.
Nigel Foot, Head of PE, Tiverton High School
Having spent a large amount of his teaching career in Devon, Nigel offers a wealth of experience and knowledge to the School Sport Partnership and represents the Head’s of PE.
Matt Hammond, Head of PE, ISCA College of Media and Arts
Again representing the Head’s of PE, Matt Hammond recently moved to ISCA from a Sports College in the South West.
